“We actually looked pretty extensively for a location, and ended up choosing Hudson because of its proximity to the hotel we chose for our guests (Mayflower Hotel) and because it was easy for our grandparents to get to (being on the first floor with no stairs). We also felt that the manager went out of his way to accommodate our party and make sure that the evening was special for us, while staying within our budget.”

Since we are convenient to the Foggy Bottom Metro, Georgetown and the rest of NW Washington DC, one of our patrons had an idea: bike to Hudson for brunch. According to Becca at Bitches Who Brunch, biking to brunch allows one to 1) save the Metro or car ride; 2) get some exercise; and 3) “accomplish something on a Sunday besides polishing off pitchers of mimosas and falling back into bed.” Their route covered the Memorial Bridge, but there are many scenic bike rides you could follow before or après brunch.

Or, why not start or end a day of shopping in Georgetown with Sunday brunch at Hudson?

This year, Passover starts Saturday April 7, 2012. Hudson will continue our tradition of offering a Passover menu available Friday, April 6th and Saturday, April  7th, including Hudson owner Alan Popovsky’s mother’s own recipe for matzah ball soup.

According to the Examiner.com, proprietor Alan Popovsky “started a craze in 1998” when he introduced his Mom’s recipes for matzah ball soup and brisket at DC’s Felix.

Now a proprietor at Hudson, Popovsky continues the tradition with potato latkes, house made Gelfite fish, and chopped liver for Passover. Many certified kosher establishments close for the holiday, but Hudson invites you to join us for both traditional fare and some eclectic dishes. Main courses include roast half chicken, braised brisket, roast leg of lamb, and grilled Atlantic salmon.
